Reinforcing plate prevents damage to the Crossarm from tightened nuts. The design has a pressed rib and is normally used on the side of the crossarm. It is used on top or bottom of flat top crossarms to reduce the strain from forged steel insulator pins and support the messenger bolt at locations of heavier than normal loading stress, such as long spans and are used with cable suspension clamps. The lower hole fits over the messenger bolt and the top end is fastened to the pole with a lag screw.
